RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Fire activity over the Fourth of July weekend is trending in the right direction.
“The night of the Fourth this year, 2025, anecdotally speaking, it seemed like we had fewer calls for service than compared to last year,” said John Beck, the Fire Marshal for the Reno Fire Department.
The Fire Marshal says the fire activity slowed down around midnight and credits the public for the decrease in service calls. “We have lots of signs and signals throughout our city. We had fires leading up, brush fires, red flag days and a lot of windy conditions this year. The public appears to be mindful of all those considerations, especially the message we are putting out.”…
