Mayor Eric Adams Announces “Rise Up NYC” Free Summer Concert Series Across All Five Boroughs

Mayor Eric Adams gave New Yorkers something to look forward to this summer with the announcement of the return of “Rise Up NYC,” the free outdoor concert series set to sweep across all five boroughs. Emphasizing inclusivity and the unifying power of music, these events are part of a bigger push dubbed “We Outside Summer,” aiming to provide safe and engaging outdoor experiences for residents grappling with rising costs. As Mayor Adams put it in a statement obtained by NYC Mayor’s Office, “it’s time for New York City to ‘Rise Up’ with us as we come together to celebrate the culture and music that make our city so great.”

While some New Yorkers might still be feeling the pinch of a hardening economy, these concerts offer a free escape. Tentative dates and locations are already out, with the stage all set to open at Wingate Park in Brooklyn on July 19 with artists like Beanie Man and Patrice Roberts. And while New Yorkers are jamming to the beat, Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor for Administration Camille Joseph Varlack, having remarked the series’ previous success, anticipates the concerts to be “impactful,” as she told the NYC Mayor’s Office.

By celebrating through August 17, each borough gets a slice of the action, with Staten Island grooving come late July at Midland Beach, and Manhattan’s West 125th Street transforming into a musical haven on August 2. Varlack highlighted that these concerts are about more than just music, they are about enriching the culture and vibrancy that makes New York unmatched.
