ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Alamance County confirmed its second case of rabies this year after a raccoon tested positive following contact with a person and two dogs in the Snow Camp area.
Health officials said the exposure happened Wednesday, July 9, near Workman Road and Snow Camp Road. A person and two dogs were exposed to the raccoon, which was later sent to a state lab in Raleigh for testing. The results came back positive on Thursday, July 10.
The person who was exposed is now receiving post-exposure treatment. The two dogs were given booster shots and are quarantined at home for 45 days…
