Two dead after crash on US 411 in Blount County

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A crash on US 411 in Blount County left two people dead on Tuesday, a Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary report stated.

The crash was investigated by THP, and resulted in the roadway being closed for about three hours. On Friday, THP released the preliminary report for the crash that happened on US 411 near Brickmill Road just before 3:30 p.m. on July 8.

According to the report, the crash happened when a 2007 Toyota Highlander was pulling out of a private driveway and attempting to turn south onto the highway, as a 2017 Toyota Tacoma was going north on US 411. The Highlander failed to yield, THP reported, and was struck in the left front side by the Tacoma. Both vehicles came to a final stop in the roadway.

Both the driver and a passenger in the Highlander died as a result of the crash, and two other passengers in the vehicle were injured. The driver of the Tacoma was also injured…
