Mid-South Storm: Isolated Severe Thunderstorms Across Tennessee Valley with Microbursts Possible from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday

Memphis, Tenn. – Another round of severe weather is brewing for West Tennessee, with isolated thunderstorms expected to turn strong between 1 and 9 p.m. Saturday. Damaging wind gusts and wet microbursts may hit parts of the Mid-South, raising travel and power outage concerns through the evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, storms will move west to east across the region and could pack winds up to 60 mph. While tornadoes and hail aren’t likely, localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions are possible during periods of heavy rain.

Memphis, Jackson, Dyersburg, and surrounding areas in north Mississippi and eastern Arkansas are under a Level 1 risk for severe storms.
