Citronelle home destroyed in fire, arson investigation underway

CITRONELLE, Ala. (WKRG) — A home in Citronelle was destroyed by a fire, leaving the homeowner devastated. Volunteer firefighters say the flames quickly reached the roof, causing it to cave in.

Carolyn East lived in the home for many years and was not there when the fire started. She returned to a sight she never expected to see.

“All I could do was drop my jaw and couldn’t believe my house was on fire. Yeah. I left it just fine,” East said.
