PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WSAV)– The city of Port Wentworth has invested in a new sewer rehabilitation project estimated to cost 2.6 million dollars.
Port Wentworth City Manager Seve Davis said, “A lot of the old pipes date back, you know, 60, 70, 80 years and rehabilitating them is one of the key functions that we needed to do. It’ll make the whole system downtown more manageable, more efficient, so it’ll be cheaper to maintain moving forward. Additionally, you know, if there’s any growth that comes in down there, you’re not putting it into older pipes and stuff.”
