Independence police focus on intoxicated drivers, make multiple arrests

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – Intoxicated drivers are a danger every motorist encounters at some point. That’s something police say they want to see less of.

The Independence Police Department conducted what they call a DWI Saturation Patrol Friday night, July 11.

A Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) saturation patrol is a police tactic that deploys a concentrated number of officers to a specific area to focus on spotting and apprehending drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs beyond the legal limit. These patrols are designed to be highly visible and proactive, aiming to deter impaired driving and reduce accidents.
