Families of Pine Village restaurant mass shooting urge resident oppose killer’s release from parole

The niece of one of the five victims of the 1972 mass murder and robbery at the Pine Village restaurant in Yorkville is asking people to oppose the killer’s release from parole.

Lisa Sleezer spoke to the Yorkville City Council, urging the city and residents to email the Illinois Prisoner Review Board to oppose 84-year-old Carl Reimann’s release from parole. Reimann currently resides in Bolingbrook.

“We fear that he will attempt to request to be released from parole again and we also fear that if he is released this would mean he could reside again in Kendall County and he could also directly contact the victims if he so chooses to do so,” Sleezer said. “These are family members that still reside in Yorkville and would be greatly affected by this. We don’t want him to come back to this county, and our last protection is his stipulation of his parole.”…
