Albany man pleads guilty to playing part in 2 shootings

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany man pleaded guilty to using an illegal firearm during two separate shootings in Albany County Court. Joshua McKoy, 24, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

McKoy was arrested after Albany Police tied him to two shootings that were within five weeks of each other last year. With this guilty plea, McKoy admitted to firing off multiple rounds near Madison Avenue and Ontario Street after a dispute on November 4.

This guilty plea also confirms that McKoy discharged a handgun, shattering the window of the Albany Fire Department Engine 9 while several firefighters were inside on December 9. Police said they believe the firehouse was not the intended target of the violence.
