BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Happy Saturday!
It’s a dry start to the morning with temperatures in the lower 70s. Patchy fog is possible in spots that received rainfall yesterday. If you encounter any patchy fog, it should dissipate by 8 a.m.
We have some cloud cover this morning, but I anticipate clouds decreasing giving way to a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky this afternoon. Temperatures will likely warm quickly this morning with most of us in the mid to upper 80s by noon. We have a 30 to 40% chance for widely scattered showers and storms this afternoon. It won’t rain everywhere, and I anticipate several locations remaining dry. The best chance to see a storm will likely occur between noon and 8 p.m. The Storm Prediction Center is highlighting a marginal risk (green), threat level one out of five, for locations along and north of Interstate-20/59. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 40 to 60 mph, hail, heavy rain and frequent lightning.
If you plan to be at the pool or the lake, make sure you monitor the WBRC First Alert Weather App. If you hear thunder or see lightning, you need to go indoors for safety…
