Lightning sparked Columbia area fire that damaged homes on Saturday evening, officials say

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia-Richland Fire says a fire that damaged multiple homes in a neighborhood off of Two Notch Road on Saturday was caused by lightning.

Officials said crews responded to the 1100 block of Bradford Ridge Lane around 6:45 p.m., where one home was burning heavily and at least one other home was reportedly damaged due to exposure to the flames.
