Intoxicated woman arrested after return to scene of battery investigation

A Leesburg woman was arrested for DUI after returning to the scene of a battery investigation in a vehicle while possibly drunk.

While investigating a battery complaint at a Leesburg residence, an officer was told that a female suspect had returned at 8:40 p.m. Friday, July 4, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. As he approached, he saw 35-year-old Ivette Flores driving a blue Hyundai Sonata without headlights westbound on Jobbins Drive.

The officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of West Main Street and Thomas Avenue. It came to rest at the Mobile Mart, located at 2340 W Main St. When he walked to the driver’s side, he saw Flores and two occupants under the age of 18 in the vehicle, the report said.

Flores did not have her license on her but gave him her name. At that point, he noticed the smell of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. He then had her step out of the vehicle and read her rights, after which she agreed to talk, the report said…
