NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Heading into the weekend with some pretty standard summer weather around. Look for showers to develop down along the coast and make their way north through the afternoon. A few spots could get a quick inch or two of rain. Also be on the lookout for lightning. Temperatures will be close to average with highs in the low 90s, but rain will help to cool things down mid-day into each afternoon. Evenings should be mostly dry rain wise, but muggy and mild with lows in the 70s.
High pressure in the upper levels will move over the region by the end of the weekend into next week. We will see a bit of sinking air…..
