WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita, dubbed the Air Capital of the World, got a blast from the past this weekend as eleven near century-old Travel Air planes flew into Jabara Airport to mark a major milestone, the company’s 100th anniversary.
Travel Air Manufacturing, established in 1925 in Wichita, built fewer than 2,000 planes. A century later, not many are still flying, and this event gave locals a rare chance to see them up close.
