Union Pacific provides updates for residents impacted by the 29th & Grove contamination site

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Union Pacific hosted an open house at the Atwater Neighborhood Resource Center to offer updates and answers about the long-standing contamination at 29th and Grove.

The event was designed to help residents understand Union Pacific’s current remediation plans, including the expansion of groundwater extraction systems aimed at treating harmful chemicals like TCE, trichloroethylene, a solvent linked to cancer that was discovered in the area’s soil and groundwater back in the 1990s.
