Charlotte Soul Fest: New festival at First Ward Park with live music and dance workshops all day Sept. 6

Charlotte Soul Fest debuts on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., at First Ward Park, 301 E 7th Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.

This FREE festival features music all day and much more, including dance workshops, a kids’ zone and an art walk. Read on for the music and dance lineups.

Cultural Dance Stage

Learn dance styles from around the world, taught by skilled instructors.

  • 12 p.m.: Ring Shouting, taught by Tamara of Moving Spirits
  • 1 p.m.: Samba Afro, taught by Tamara of Moving Spirits
  • 2 p.m.: Belly Dance, taught by Iona of Lotus Belly Dance
  • 3 p.m.: Capoeira, taught by Reba of Studioxl
  • 4 p.m.: Hip Hop Dance, taught by Roxii of NC Dance District
  • 5 p.m.: AfroSass Dance, taught by Bre Myers of NC Dance District
  • 6 p.m.: Line Dance Party, taught by Letasha of Blueskyy Entertainment

Health and Housing Resources

The festival also has two important missions, access to quality healthcare and a path to affordable housing and home ownership, and includes:

  • Free flu and Covid vaccines
  • Health screenings
  • Mammorgram center
  • Blood drive
  • Housing partners, offering tools and guidance for achieving housing stability
  • Food drive with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
