Weekend brings continued heat, humidity, and storm chances

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good Saturday morning and welcome to the weekend! The forecast is not changing much from what we experienced during the work week. We expect the hot and muggy conditions to continue, along with scattered storm chances in the afternoons and evenings.

Temperatures will go from the 70s this morning to the lower 90s this afternoon. Anticipate temperatures to be a tad warmer than yesterday due to a sunnier start to the day. Feels-like temperatures this afternoon will be near 100 degrees.

Storms will develop across the mountains during the early afternoon hours, with storms developing across the Charlotte metro a little later in the day. Storms will once again be capable of producing locally gusty winds and localized flash flooding. The higher threat of flooding will come in areas that were hit harder by rain over the last few days.

Sunday will present a similar forecast, with temperatures rising from the warm 70s to the hot low to mid-90s. There will be a few storms during the afternoon and evening on Sunday, but storm coverage is actually expected to be lower than today. The flood and severe threat are also lower on Sunday too!…
