Blood drive being held in honor of local cancer survivor

A blood drive in honor of Erie resident and cancer survivor Rachel Clark is set to take place at Humes Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram in Waterford on July 24th.

The event aims to address the urgent need for blood donations during the summer months, a time when demand is high and school drives are not in session. Rachel Clark, who was diagnosed with the rare cancer Uterine Leiomyosarcoma, required multiple blood transfusions following surgery to remove a large tumor.

“We really need blood products and we need them now,” said Megan Solensky, Community Relations Specialist at the Community Blood Bank.

Rachel Clark’s father, Matt Clark, manages the business hosting the blood drive. He expressed the family’s commitment to helping others, stating, “To help save other people’s lives and more specifically our daughter’s. So we’re real pleased for us all to be involved.”…
