Weekend Warmth Peaks Sunday with Heat Advisory in Place

We topped out in the upper 80s around the metro yesterday, with Salem hitting the low 90s. It was a pleasant day at the coast — Tillamook and Astoria reached the low 70s — while The Dalles sizzled in the mid-90s. Today looks a lot like yesterday: mostly sunny inland with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Coastal clouds and fog will clear by midday, with temps in the 60s and 70s. Breezy north winds pick up this afternoon, with gusts between 20 and 25 mph.

Sunday turns up the heat. Highs will jump into the mid to upper 90s across our valleys. A Heat Advisory is in place from 11 AM to 10 PM for the Willamette Valley, Portland/Vancouver Metro, Gorge, and Upper Hood River Valley. This level of heat can impact anyone without proper cooling or hydration.

Monday brings a bit of a break with temperatures dropping 5–10 degrees, but we’re watching for the next heat wave to ramp up quickly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
