Honoring veterans lost to suicide, an advocacy group is laying 22 crosses daily

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A field of crosses is being set up to remind highway drivers of a daily tragedy.

For the third year, 22 a Day is remembering veterans lost to suicide in an effort to make the invisible wounds of combat more visible.

In a field just off of US-131, the Ypsilanti-based organization posts 22 crosses each day for an entire month, representing the American veterans who take their own lives daily from PTSD…
