Rising NC State senior Drew Salls is swimming at the North Carolina Senior Championships this weekend, and he started off his meet with a blistering 21.93 50 freestyle for the win.
Salls, who is entered in the meet as Larry, is only swimming the 50 and 100 freestyle events this weekend, but he made the most of his first swim with a win and a new personal best time in the 50 free, touching in 21.93 to win the event by three tenths of a second over Sean Setzer from the North Carolina Aquatic Club.
This time was just over two tenths faster than his previous best time of 22.15 that he swam at last summer’s Olympic Trials where he finished 12th in the semifinals. At the 2024 Trials, he finished 11th in 22.26…
