ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A cold front will be approaching Western New York for Sunday afternoon. This will be a focal point for the development of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.
Lightning and gusty winds will be possible, but the greatest threat will be the potential for localized flooding rain. Any of these storms could dump torrential rain with several inches of accumulation possible over a very short duration of time. Watch for the potential of ponding on area roadways with flooding basements also possible. As a result, the News10NBC First Alert meteorologists have issued a yellow alert.
