Pantless man shoots flare gun, hurls money at deputy on highway

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A welfare check on a man walking down Highway 19 during early hours took a turn when he apparently fired a flare gun at a deputy’s patrol car.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said that a deputy saw Jacob Caldwell walking down Highway 19 and stopped to check on him at 4:20 a.m. on July 8.
