Oak Ridge man convicted of attempted voluntary manslaughter, drug charges

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man was convicted of attempted voluntary manslaughter after shooting at a woman in July 2023.

Kevin Steen, Sr., 59, was convicted of attempted voluntary manslaughter, possession of weapon – convicted felon (violent), reckless endangerment – deadly weapon, tampering with evidence, maintain dwelling, possession of schedule II (cocaine) for resale > .5 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia on June 30 following a weeklong trial. He is set to be sentenced on September 29, 2025.

District Attorney General Dave Clark said Steen shot at a woman after an argument in July 2023. The case was investigated by the Oak Ridge Police Department, and Assistant District Attorney Kevin J. Allen acted as the prosecutor during the trial.
