OCPS is an “A” District for the second straight year; sees growth in key performance areas

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has released school and district grades for the 2024–25 academic year, and Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) once again earned an overall “A” rating—its second consecutive year achieving the top mark.

According to the FDOE, OCPS either maintained or improved in 11 of the 12 state accountability components, reflecting gains in student achievement, learning gains, graduation rates, and college and career acceleration. These results highlight continued academic growth and system-wide momentum in one of Florida’s largest and most diverse school districts.

A standout detail from the report: 96 traditional (non-charter, non-alternative) schools within OCPS earned an “A” grade, up from 88 the year before. Additionally, 76 percent of traditional schools received either an “A” or “B” grade—an increase from 69 percent last year. Notably, no traditional OCPS schools received a grade of “D” or “F.”…
