This is a potential wind energy development that came to awareness AFTER my colleagues and I on the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners put in place a moratorium prohibiting large scale, utility grade, wind and solar development in Lincoln County until appropriate language and regulations could be implemented to address these types of developments within our boundaries.
The potential 50+ turbines for this project are supposedly nearly 400 feet tall, with a total blade height of an additional +/-30% taller than that — roughly 520 feet. To put that in perspective, the Nebraska State Capitol is 400 feet tall. The boiler stacks at Gerald Gentleman Station are 550 feet tall and can be seen from most points in the county.
I believe that I have made my stance on these types of electricity production developments well known. They are not what our county needs…
