Even though the water level has been increasing at Cheney Reservoir, drought watering restrictions are expected to remain in place for several months. Vice Mayor J. V. Johnston tells KNSS News he favors lifting those once-a-week watering rules now. He says Lake Cheney is only about half-a-foot below normal.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the Wichita City Council will get a look at next year’s proposed budget. Vice Mayor Johnston tells KNSS News final approval on the budget will come next month and there’s plenty of time for more public input. He says the proposed budget carries a reduction of a half mill in the property tax rate.
