Free backpacks and school supplies to be distributed at three events this month in Fulton County

Fulton County, Georgia – As the new school year approaches, Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington Jr. is once again stepping up to help area families and students with his 11th Annual “It Takes a Village” Back-to-School Supply Giveaway.

The goal of the initiative is to make sure that all children in District 5 have the supplies they need to start the school year 2025–2026 on the right foot. This summer, the Commissioner and his community partners will hold three events in different places to give away backpacks and school supplies to families for free.

On Friday, July 18, from 5 to 6 p.m., the Wolf Creek Library in Atlanta will host the first giveaway. The second event will take place on Thursday, July 24, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Fairburn Hobgood-Palmer Library. Both of these events will have drive-thru pickups, which will make it quick and convenient for families to get the items they need…
