Knox County launches website to connect people to skilled trade career opportunities

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knox County government announced the launch of a new webpage Monday morning for its Skilled Trades Academy Regional Training (START) Center.

The goal of the START Center is to give people hands-on workforce experiences and apprenticeship training. The center was “championed” by Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, according to the county government. He signed the contract for it in December 2023.

“This new webpage makes it even easier for students, families, and job seekers to learn about the opportunities available,” said Mayor Jacobs. “This is about connecting people to real careers in the skilled trades and continuing to grow our local workforce.”
