WATCH: Beagle rescued from Cumberland testing facility now pampered in adoptive home

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Thousands of beagles needed new homes after they were bred and sold for experimental purposes in a Cumberland County facility. Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) shared a heartwarming video on Monday of how one such beagle is doing in their new home.

After years of 8News’ investigative reports, about 4,000 beagles rescued from the Envigo facility in Cumberland were sent to various shelters in hopes of finding them new homes. These animals had endured disturbing conditions prior to the facility’s forced closure.

Once the beagles found themselves in the hands of caring shelters, they were finally given the chance to explore what life beyond Envigo had to offer. Video from a Fairfax County shelter shows the joy dozens of these beagles felt when they were able to play in grass for the first time ever…
