TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The debate over the fire service fee in Leon County is raging, with some saying the way the City of Tallahassee collects the fee is illegal. Now, there is a proposed ordinance trying to remedy that.
Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban is sponsoring an ordinance that would stop the city from collecting the fee on utility bills. He and others say it’s unfair to turn off someone’s lights for not paying the fire fee.
