It’s official! The first heat wave in a year for Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — It’s been quite hot and humid in July, but in order to get a heat wave CNY needs to have 3 consecutive 90+ degree days. The details of our first heat wave in Syracuse are below…

First of 2025

After feeling 90° on Friday and 91° Saturday we reached at least 90° on Sunday to achieve an official heat wave in Syracuse for the first time since mid July 2024, July 14 – 16th.

How many 90 degree days for 2025?

So far we’ve had nine 90+degree days here in Syracuse, or just one shy of what’s normal for a year already! How do we compare to last year at this time? We are 5 behind the 2024 count through July 13th when 14 had already occurred on the way to 20 90+ degree days in the hot summer of 2024!
