AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department reported Monday that it will be sending members of its Amarillo Regional Crime Center to support recovery missions in Central Texas following the July 4 flood.

APD said it received a formal request for assistance and the ARCC along with its “Drone as a First Responder Program” will be used to help locate individuals who were still missing following the devastating flood.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the tragic flooding in the Hill Country. The devastation has touched so many lives, and like all of you, we’ve been watching with heavy hearts as the search and recovery efforts continue,” said APD in a Facebook post.
