Jack in the Box reenters the Chicago area with first new location

After a 40-year absence, Jack in the Box reentered the Chicago area on Monday with the grand opening of an establishment in the southwest suburbs.

The new fast food restaurant along Route 59 near Vermette Circle in Plainfield is one of eight locations across the region expected to open by September, according to the company. Serving customers 24 hours a day, the Plainfield restaurant has a dine-in area, drive-thru as well as mobile ordering capabilities, the chain said in a news release.

The iconic fast food chain announced in June it would open as many as 10 new locations in the city and suburbs over the next two years as part of a “strategic expansion” into the Chicago market…
