HOPKINS COUNTY, TX – A Brashear man was arrested early Saturday morning after authorities say he was driving while intoxicated on Interstate 30.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Joseph Carl Morris, 55, was stopped by Sulphur Springs Police Department around 1:56 a.m. on July 13, 2025, in the 600 block of Bill Bradford Road. Officers reported that Morris, the sole occupant of the vehicle, exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and difficulty maintaining balance. Morris also admitted to drinking alcohol.
After failing multiple sobriety tests, Morris was taken into custody for DWI 1st Offense (MB). He was transported to Christus Mother Francis Hospital for a blood specimen collection before being booked into the Hopkins County Jail without incident…
