After violent weekend, Milwaukee’s Mayor hopes to inspire youth to spark change

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson remained optimistic that city violence could come to an end, despite a recent wave of violent crimes.

Recently, three police officers have been shot, with Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Corder dying in the line of duty. A child was abducted at gunpoint over the weekend and there have been multiple homicides and shootings.

Johnson spoke to College Bound Scholars at Marquette University, with the hope of inspiring them to help build a better future for the city…
