(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A 21-year-old has been arrested on arson charges in connection to several fires in Colorado Springs over the last seven months that police said were intentionally set.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), detectives from the Regional Explosives Unit began investigating in December 2024 after a fire was set inside an apartment building in the 2000 block of East Bijou Street, northeast of Memorial Park. CSPD said several items were set on fire in an occupied apartment on Dec. 10, though the tenants of the apartment were able to extinguish the fire before it caused any injuries or significant damage.
On Dec. 21, 2024, a car was set on fire near Memorial Park, resulting in the total loss of the car. The car was valued at $22,000, CSPD said…
