Business owner dies in motorcycle crash on Route 9W in Bethlehem

BETHELHEM — A motorcyclist died after a car crossed into an oncoming lane late Monday afternoon on Route 9W in Glenmont, police said.

Bethlehem police said the crash happened around 5 p.m. in the area of Corning Hill Road. A car driving south crossed over the center line and struck a motorcycle driving north, police said.

The motorcyclist, 32-year-old Patrick Lafortune Jr., who owned a construction company in Schenectady, was taken to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from crash wounds. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured…
