New lemur, octopus habitat highlight summer changes at Tennessee Aquarium

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Big changes are making a splash this summer at the Tennessee Aquarium — from a new lemur duo to a fresh home for a fan-favorite octopus.

Kintana, a two-year-old female Red-collared Brown Lemur, recently arrived from the Dallas Zoo to join longtime resident John in the Lemur Forest.

“When John and Kintana got to meet for the first time, they were immediately trying to groom each other through the mesh and trying to do all those social comfort behaviors,” says Maggie Sipe, the lead animal care specialist in the Aquarium’s Ocean Journey building…
