West Nile Virus detected in Chatham County

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — A mosquito sample collected by Chatham County Mosquito Control has tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV), a spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) said.

The positive sample was collected from the Svannah midtown area and is the first positive test in the Chatham County mosquito population this year.
