Skies were partly cloudy on the South Plains around sunrise this morning. The clouds are expected to clear by this afternoon to mostly Sunny skies. Morning low temperatures dropped into the upper 60s and low 70s. Warming to a high temperature of 92° this evening.
Although there is rain to both the west and the southeast of Lubbock today, the South Plains is expected to stay dry. Wednesday will stay equally as warm and dry as today. Thunderstorm chances increase Thursday evening and could last into early Friday morning.
