Arkansas Fugitive Apprehended in Dyersburg, Tennessee; Faces Extradition for Parole Violation

An Arkansas fugitive was taken into custody on July 11, not far from the Mississippi River, in the parking lot of a home improvement store in Dyersburg, Tennessee. The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a tip-off regarding a white Dodge Durango in the parking lot of Lowe’s Home Improvement at 1155 Highway 51 Bypass, housing the wanted individual.

Geoffrey Spears, a 59-year-old man identified by the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office as the suspect, was found occupying the vehicle. Upon conducting an NCIC inquiry, it was confirmed that Spears was sought for a parole violation in Arkansas, which authorized full extradition. Originally from Blytheville, Arkansas, Spears had been residing on South Lake Street before his apprehension.
