West Bank pet owner arrested after 2 dogs found dead, 5 rescued in ‘deplorable condition’

An Avondale man is facing animal cruelty charges after authorities discovered a dead dog in an outdoor kennel and the skeletal remains of another in his shed, according to authorities.

Officials with Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS) also seized five malnourished dogs from the home of Donald Stackhouse, 48.

“The five surviving dogs are in deplorable condition,” JPAWS Director Michelle Brignac said in a statement. “Their current medical conditions are listed as guarded to critical. They look to have been starved and have serious medical issues.”…
