Armed robberies are never a good thing, but I would argue it’s slightly better when the person who’s responsible owns up to their crimes. According to the FBI in St. Louis, that’s what’s just happened involving an armed robber who has confessed to stealing from two Missouri businesses.
The United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Missouri has just shared details of what a St. Louis man has just confessed to. They say “Stanley E. Alford, 58, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to two counts of robbery and two counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence”. The first robbery took place on January 24, 2024 when he went after a store on Gravois Bluffs Boulevard in Fenton, Missouri. Two days after that, he robbed a pawn shop located in the 8100 block of Gravois Road in St. Louis County.
The details of the robberies are disturbing. During the first robbery, he demanded cash from the clerk, but she said she couldn’t open the register. He returned later when the register was open and showed her a handgun and forced her to give him the cash and put the barrel of his gun to her head. During the pawnshop robbery, he also displayed his firearm causing the employee to run for her life. He then reportedly grabbed a tray full of diamond and gold rings…
