Motorcyclist Arrested After 110 MPH Interstate Ride in Morning Traffic

MERIDIAN, ID – A 19-year-old motorcyclist was arrested for reckless driving on Friday, July 11, after allegedly reaching speeds of up to 115 mph on Interstate 84 during morning commute traffic, according to the Idaho State Police.

The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. near milepost 45 in Ada County, when ISP Motors Corporal McConnell observed a red 2007 Yamaha YZFR6 weaving through congested westbound traffic at an extremely high rate of speed. The rider reportedly failed to signal lane changes and navigated narrow gaps between vehicles, endangering surrounding drivers.

Corporal McConnell turned around and paced the motorcycle at speeds between 110 and 115 mph. After activating emergency lights and a siren near milepost 42.5, the rider initially failed to yield but eventually pulled over near milepost 41. The individual was taken into custody without incident…
