DC police arrest 2 women accused of robbing person waiting for ride-hailing service in Southeast

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police have arrested two women accused of robbing someone while they were waiting for a ride-hailing service over the weekend.

The Metropolitan Police Department said Tuesday that 34-year-old Latrisha Pickett and 25-year-old Caprice Thomas, both of Southeast, were arrested and charged in connection with the offense, which took place on July 13.

At around 1:45 a.m. that morning, officers responded to the 800 block of Chesapeake St., SE, for a reported robbery. There, officers learned that the suspects, later identified as Thomas and Pickett, approached someone who was waiting for a ride-hailing service and assaulted them, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Pickett and Thomas then allegedly took the person’s property before fleeing. However, officers who were canvassing the area arrested the pair upon noticing they matched the suspects’ descriptions…
