Convicted child murderer denied parole again by parole board: DA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A convicted child murderer was denied parole on July 10, 2025, due to the California Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) citing that he continues to pose a current and unreasonable risk to public safety, announced the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

George Tyler, who lived in the Rosamond area, was convicted of the brutal murder of his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son in 2006. At the time of the murder, Tyler was under a court order prohibiting contact with the child and his siblings. The tragic incident unfolded after Tyler, angered by the child’s response to a question about tying his shoes, violently assaulted him, said the DA.

The child’s mother, who had endured approximately 100 incidents of domestic violence at Tyler’s hands, was unable to prevent the attack. Despite her attempts to seek medical help, Tyler and his mother obstructed her efforts, leading to the child’s death from blunt force trauma and organ failure on August 11, 2006…
