Two police officers in Cecil County graduate from FBI National Academy

CECIL COUNTY — Lt. Michael Zack of the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office lost his composure several weeks ago when recalling his involvement in two line-of-duty shootings during his 25-year law enforcement career.

He did so while giving an oral presentation inside an FBI National Academy classroom at that agency’s training campus in Quantico, Va., as part of his chosen curriculum — officer wellness — for the agency’s intense, 10-week-long program.

“I was crying telling my story. All of the officers in the classroom were crying, too,” Zack said. “It was our final research paper and the instructor had encouraged us to write about something personal about ourselves, how something impacted us, to tell a story.”…
