NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Another round of monsoon weather is expected hit the state in the coming days, bringing with it the threat of flash flooding. “It just takes one storm to produce good flash flooding, especially along burn scars,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Carter Gruelich.

While it’s still a few days out, the Albuquerque NWS is monitoring a very wet rest of the week. “That combination of the low to our west and the high pressure to our east basically works as a funnel pushing moisture through New Mexico up from the subtropics,” said Gruelich.
Gruelich said the worst of it is expected to start on Thursday.
